Finally! Good vibes!

I had my first pro contact meeting with Cindy Bell on Friday, and even though I was shitting my pants about meeting her and how she'd perceive my work (which, at this point is much more a concept than a product), I put on my big girl panties and held my own. I think being completely honest, BS-free, and upfront about my project's concept and challenges, while simultaneously totally open to crit and advice, it went relatively well. She didn't tell me to change my project, so that was wonderful news. She also said she loved my concept, it just needed some further molding, which is highly appropriate advice.

I have since created a facebook group to network with (it has 82 members, holy hell.. something's gotta come of that!) and made a few contacts. This is thrilling news as I was beginning to panic that things weren't panning out. I had even had a nightmare(-ish) where I was sitting in L.F. and Nige said "ok so I don't see any cause for panic among you guy's projects.... except Shanna." and that was the end of that, because I think my subconscious woke me up, basically telling me this is no time to be sleeping. I have since changed my project game plan for large format to not my senior project, but still environmental portraits. I plan on documenting portrait-style the interesting characters of Caz, including but not limited to:
Lanoir (99 year old neighbor living in the apartments)
Eddie (white mutton chops, always shovels the sidewalk of Kinneys, eats lunch at Angels every day and dinner at the Linck every night)
Leaha (P&C deli girl, has the most mellow ferrets that she can wear them as a scarf)
--- what other Caz people should I ask to shoot? ---

In other news, Eliz's bachelorette party was delightful this weekend, I always love a good wine tour in gorgeous weather. It was a necessary break from the stress and monotony of this past week. This week however is a work week. I will shoot shoot shoot my little heart out, and read til my eyes fall out of my head (but nothing too serious, as I will be needing those to continue shooting with).
